🇩🇪 Masters in Germany

"High Tech, Zero Tuition"

Germany is an engineering paradise. But it is rigorous and bureaucratic.

🏫 Types of Universities

  1. TU (Technical Universities): TU Munich, RWTH Aachen, TU Berlin.
    • Focus: Theory, Research. Hard to pass exams. Prestigious.
  2. FH (Fachhochschule / Applied Sciences):
    • Focus: Practical, internship-based. Good for finding jobs directly.

📝 The Application Process (Complex)

  1. APS Certificate: You MUST submit your B.Tech docs to the German Embassy (APS India) for verification. This takes 1-2 months. Do this first.
  2. Uni-Assist: Most colleges accept applications via the uni-assist portal.
  3. VPD: Some colleges need a Preliminary Review Document (VPD).

🗣️ The Language Barrier (The Truth)

  • "Can I study in English?" Yes. Many masters are 100% English.
  • "Can I get a job with English only?" Maybe in Berlin startups. But for Bosch, Siemens, BMW? NO.
  • Rule: Start learning German in India. Reach B1 Level before you fly.

💰 Expenses (Blocked Account)

  • Tuition: €0 (mostly).
  • Blocked Account (Sperrkonto): You must deposit ~€11,208 (changes yearly) into a German bank to prove you can survive for 1 year. You get this back monthly (~€934/month) for rent/food.

🏭 Part-Time Work (Hiwi / Werkstudent)

  • Werkstudent: You work at a tech company for 20 hours/week.
  • Pay: €15 - €20/hour.
  • Benefit: This experience counts heavily for full-time jobs.
