Data Handling
1. General Policy
- Gecian Hub does not store any personal data by default.
- All user interactions are anonymous unless explicitly required for a feature, which must be approved by the core team.
2. User-Generated Content
- If the project starts allowing user posts or submissions, contributors or leads may need to track certain permissions to avoid misuse.
- Important: There is no monitoring of users by default, and the project cannot guarantee the behavior of users.
3. Responsibility Disclaimer
- Any feature or process that involves storing data or tracking users is the sole responsibility of the team implementing it.
- Gecian Hub’s original founders or previous leads are not liable for misuse, breaches, or legal issues arising from user data.
4. Contributor Awareness
All contributors should understand:
- Do not assume safety or monitoring exists
- Be careful when enabling features that handle personal or sensitive data
- Follow ethical standards and college policies if handling user content
- If unsure, pause and consult the lead before proceeding
5. Legal Disclaimer
- The project is student-run and open-source.
- Any consequences arising from storing, sharing, or misusing data are the responsibility of the current team implementing those features.
- Gecian Hub and its founders disclaim any liability for data-related issues caused by contributors, core team, or future leads.
