Structure

Suggested Organization Structure (Flexible)

There is no fixed structure. You can keep it as simple or as detailed as needed. However, having the following roles is recommended:


1. Lead

  • Main person responsible for decisions and direction.
  • Manages the team and overall progress.
  • Final point of responsibility.

2. Vice Lead

  • Supports the Lead.
  • Takes over if the Lead is unavailable.
  • Helps coordinate between different roles.

3. Mentor (Last Year’s Lead)

  • The previous year’s Lead acts as a Mentor.
  • Contact the Mentor only in urgent situations.
  • The Mentor is not part of official groups or daily operations.
  • Role is advisory only.

4. Design Lead

  • Official lead for all website design work.
  • Maintains UI/UX consistency.
  • Reviews design changes before implementation.

5. Tech Lead

  • Someone strong in technical skills.
  • Responsible for:

  • Code quality

  • Architecture decisions
  • Technical guidance
  • Helps with deployments and tech-related issues.

6. Outreach Lead

  • Handles outreach, communication, and recruitment.
  • Responsible for:

  • Recruiting new students to contribute

  • Growing the student contributor community
  • Communicating opportunities to students
  • Works on:

  • College outreach

  • Contributor onboarding
  • Increasing participation and engagement

Note: This role does not focus on social media management. The main goal is bringing students into the community and helping them start contributing.
